Lake Wales man facing numerous felonies after crawling through a bedroom window twice in one day

Media Contact: Brian Bruchey

A Lake Wales man was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, after he crawled through the same bedroom window twice in one day.

28-year-old Eddie Roberson, Jr. unlawfully entered the residence the first time at around one o'clock in the morning Wednesday.

A male inside the home heard a noise and found Eddie in the bedroom. The man recognized Eddie, and told him to leave. Which he did.

Later that same day, Eddie returned, and again climbed through the same window.

This time, he saw a handgun on a table near the window and picked it up.

A woman in the room woke up, and Eddie allegedly pointed the gun at her, and threatened to kill her, and refused to let her leave.

According to the victim, Eddie wanted her to drop pending charges against him from a prior incident (for which Eddie was charged with battery and a stolen firearm).

A nearby resident heard screams from the home and called the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies soon arrived and arrested Eddie. They recovered the firearm from under a dresser in the room.

Upon his arrest, Eddie was found to be in possession of methamphetamine in a pants pocket. Eddie though, claimed that the pants weren't his. When deputies failed to accept that excuse, Eddie claimed that the victim put the meth in his pocket.

Eddie Roberson was taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center and charged with:
Armed Burglary (F1), Unarmed Burglary of Structure (F2), Attempted Burglary of Dwelling (F2), Grand Theft of Firearm (F3), Aggravated Assault without Intent to Kill (F3), Tampering with Evidence (F3), Tampering with a Witness (F3), False Imprisonment (F3), Possession of a Firearm Violating an RPO (F3), Aggravated Stalking (F3), Possession of Methamphetamine (F3), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M1), Possession of Marijuana (M1), and Battery (M1).
